Smokefree Tennessee: Tennessee Non-Smokers Protection Act

Beginning October 1, 2007, Tennesseans were able to breathe smoke free at numerous restaurants, hotels, and many other establishments as a result of the Tennessee Non-Smokers Protection Act. On June 11, 2007, Governor Phil Bredesen signed the Act into law, which makes it illegal to smoke in most places where people work. There are three ways to file a complaint or report a violation of the Non-Smokers Protection Act.
