The Tennessee Department of Health has identified 14 Tennessee residents whose illness has been linked to the current nationwide outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium. While some of these individuals were hospitalized, all have fully recovered. The county of residence of those sickened is as follows:

Salmonella typically causes diarrheal illness, often with fever, within 12 to 72 hours after exposure. Most people recover without treatment in 4 to 7 days. People with other medical conditions and small infants can develop more severe illness and require treatment or hospitalization; it is rarely fatal.
