Oral Health Services conducts an in-depth review of all public health dentists and clinic sites at least annually, or more often as deemed necessary, to ensure provision of high-quality dental services. Clinical performance is measured using the Quality Assurance Review Instrument for the Direct Observation of Public Health Dental Practice as contained in the eleventh edition of the Standards of Practice for Dental Public Health revised in July 2010.
Oral Health Services ensures that standard precautions are followed in all Dental Clinic Facilities across the state. Dental personnel have been vaccinated for Hepatitis B and receive annual Occupational Safety and Health Administration training. Those training sessions also include educational programs on infectious diseases such as Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, and Tuberculosis.
