Health Alert: Listeria Outbreak Linked to Cantaloupe
Federal and state health authorities are investigating a multistate outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes that has been linked to whole cantaloupes from Jensen Farms in Colorado. The Tennessee Department of Health is working with federal food safety investigators to identify any individuals who may have been sickened as part of this outbreak.
Cantaloupes that are known to have come from a source other than Jensen Farms are safe to eat. Consumers uncertain about the source of a cantaloupe should ask the store or other vendor. A cantaloupe purchased from an unknown source should be discarded.
